Rolling Cargo has been crowned Freight and Logistics Company of the Year 2026 at the Elite Brands Awards International, cementing its position as one of East Africa's leading logistics providers following a year marked by innovation, customer-focused service, and international expansion.

The recognition was presented during the Elite Brands Awards International 2026 in Nairobi, an event that brought together business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and professionals from across Africa to celebrate organizations demonstrating excellence in leadership, innovation, governance, customer service, and sustainable business practices.

Unlike many awards that largely measure financial performance, the Elite Brands Awards International recognizes organizations using the Organisational Performance Index (OPI), an assessment framework that evaluates operational systems, leadership effectiveness, ethical conduct, innovation, customer satisfaction, service delivery, and contribution to society. The approach has earned the awards a reputation for recognizing organizations that demonstrate long-term value beyond commercial success.

For Rolling Cargo, the award reflects years of investment in building a logistics business that responds to evolving customer needs while strengthening its international footprint. The company has continued to position itself as a reliable freight and logistics partner by embracing technology and expanding its global presence.

Speaking after receiving the award, Rolling Cargo Marketing Manager Joyce Wangui attributed the recognition to the company's people, culture of innovation, and commitment to delivering quality customer experiences.

"What makes us stand out is through our dedicated team effort, our customer service and the fact that we keep on innovating," she said.

She noted that one of the company's most significant milestones during the year was the establishment of a new branch in Germany, marking an important step in expanding its international operations and improving service delivery for clients with global logistics needs.

"We opened a new branch in Germany and that's our baby," Wangui said, describing the expansion as a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the company's international logistics network.

The recognition comes at a time when Africa's logistics sector continues to play a pivotal role in supporting regional trade, manufacturing, e-commerce, and economic integration under initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Efficient freight movement and reliable supply chain services remain critical to enabling businesses to access new markets and improve competitiveness.

The Elite Brands Awards International 2026 brought together organizations from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, and other African countries across sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, banking, engineering, construction, technology, agriculture, hospitality, renewable energy, and logistics.

Jared Oundo, Executive Director of Jubilant Stewards of Africa, said the awards recognize organizations that combine business success with ethical leadership and positive community impact, encouraging enterprises across the continent to pursue higher standards of performance and accountability.

For Rolling Cargo, being named Freight and Logistics Company of the Year signals growing recognition of its efforts to combine operational excellence with customer-centric innovation. As businesses increasingly demand faster, more transparent, and digitally enabled logistics services, the company's continued investment in technology, international expansion, and service quality positions it strongly within Africa's evolving logistics landscape.
